Simtown torrent
The graphics are brilliantly designed, managing somehow to pack masses of detail into each small element, yet leave the whole thing looking as crisp and clear as an illustration in a children's book. There's a pleasing selection of silly sound effects to accompany the action, too. The only downside is the stomach-churning Yankness to the whole thing -it's packed full of burger joints and video arcades; all the inhabitants wear back-to-front baseball caps and ride skateboards.
In fact, it's so American, you half expect your Sim Citizens to erect a statue of Abraham Lincoln before bombing the town next door. However, there's a pretty heavy-handed message lurking away behind all of this toytown kerfuffle. The player is encouraged, nay, practically forced at gunpoint, to create an ecologically friendly town.
The financial side of Sim town has been replaced by a "natural resource" credit system: every item you place on the map will cost you a number of trees, or a few gallons of water from the lake.
And you'd better start recycling your rubbish, damn you, or else your pretty little dream town turns into the Armpit City of Death in a trice. It's well-designed, easy on the eye, genuinely educational, and most important of all, really good fun.
If you're a little kid, that is. If you've got any spare children lying around, buy them a copy of this and, if they don't appreciate it, then there's something wrong with them. The vast options and reality of the game can definitely put you glued to the screen for hours on end. The graphics, while pretty simple, are very nice and tasteful, and best feature of the game is probably the very simple, yet effective interface that makes your job a lot easier. If you don't feel you're up to much more complicated games like Yoot Tower , this game will be a great gaming exercise.
Publication date Topics disc image , game , maxis Language English. SimTown is a video game published by Maxis, much like the best selling SimCity but on a smaller scale. SimTown allows the player to construct a town consisting of streets, houses, businesses and parks and then control the people in it. SimTown was one of the many 'Sim' spin-offs at the time, and was targeted more towards children.
The game structure of SimTown is similar to SimCity, but on a generally smaller and simplified scale, where players are tasked to craft a small town instead.
Players are allocated a blank and flat tract of land, where they will be required to place homes, workplaces and civic buildings. In addition, other elements such as roads and flora can be placed, although they do not appear to have any other practical use besides beautification. The primary objective in SimTown is to keep the town's citizens happy.
This can be achieved by ensuring that water supply, trees, farm crops, and the recycling program remain well maintained and well funded, with the allocation of "credits" given at each stint. The amount of these resources required for the town and the credits awarded will depend on how much has been built in the town.
