Google chrome vista problems

If so it's not longer supported, use a different browser like Firefox. Or are you asking about getting Vista updates?

Have been using Chrome but now will no longer allow windows update for vista so downloaded Firefox as it is suppose to still support windows updates but this is not happening for me. So those browsers have no relevance to Windows Update. To access Windows Updates use the link from the Start Menu. I am unable to get any windows updates for Vista at the present time. Any help would be appreciated. I had been told that I needed to change browsers by someone else. Ok, so now we have gotten to the real problem.

Windows Update has been problematic lately on Vista and 7, generally just taking a long time. Check the history of Windows Update and see when was the last time that it downloaded an update successfully. Also just let it do it's scan for a while, some people have to leave it checking overnight to get the new updates; if you do leave it checking overnight make sure to turn off the Sleep under Power settings in the Control Panel so that it doesn't go to sleep and stop checking.

Last successful scan was on June I have left in on for extended periods of time but have not been able to get the updates however I did not turn of the sleep setting. I will try tonight to leave it overnight and turn off the sleep setting and hope this helps and will let you know.

I appreciate you patience obviously I have been mis imformed. Thank you. I chose a small update to do and left my computer on overnight and at 3 am it did the update. So I chose 3 more small ones and left my computer on all day til 11 pm and got nothing since. I do seem to have the latest windows update agent and when I clicked on the second link my virus program showed a Trojan virus caught so never got to that page..

I have since scanned my whole computer and it is clean. I find it strange that my husband has almost the same computer and he is getting updates no problem. Did you try the things I posted above? Updating the Agent and doing the troubleshooter?

As I said in my last post I did what you suggested and have the latest update agent abut upon clicking on the second link you mentioned my computer picked up a Trojan virus so I did not get to that page. Still no updates! It was unclear what steps you did, remember we are not there to see what steps you did. There is not virus or malware on the Microsoft TechNet site, try the site again to get the repair script. I enlisted the help of my grandson to update the agent and get the repair script as you mentioned but I am still unable to get any new updates even leaving my computer on for over 24 hours.

Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Also,so what if chrome wont update,vista is an obsolete system,upgrade to Win 8. Vistas is NOT an obsolete system. A lot of people still use and enjoy using Vista.
