Recommendations- The older models were very popular its crazy that a Vacuum company still makes a vacuum that is going strong after 40 years but I would suggest staying with the newer models.

As we have serviced, repaired and rebuilt thousands of Electrolux or Aerus Vacuums we have not noticed any problems and they are powerful dependable vacuums that you will love.

The only exception to that is the Electrolux Renaissance. That was the 1st model that they put the switches to control the vacuum in the hose handle and they had some problems with that hose going out after awhile. I think for the money they are an excellent value.

I think if you get the models , Guardian, , canister models you are fine and the uprights I would go with the Gray Epic models and you would be fine. If you want to buy a brand new Electrolux now Aerus product you will need to contact Aerus directly as that is the only way to buy new units. If you want to save some money and buy reconditioned then you can shop at our store at the link below.

If you like the Upright models then in our store check out "Proteam Upright". Those are made by a different vacuum company Proteam but the quality and power is just as good if not better. Those we sell new but I have not been able to find another company in Canister Vacuums that make as good a quality of Canister Vacuums as Electrolux does.

This really does feel like it will take on that challenge. Who knew that there is a company that makes a Vacuum that can tame High -Pile Shag with ease. Aside from a small wheel squeak , Th Vacuum is quiet and does the job well.

It can raise the nap and cleans with vigor. It is vey well engineered and constructed product. I will enjoy it foe a long time , I am sure. This is a great vacuum. The short hose works well. Less knocking of furniture legs because you have to keep the canister closer than with a long hose.

You will get use to it. Trust me, this is a great vacuum. I decided to purchase the Prolux CV I recently had spinal fusion surgery. My husband called me a few days after he returned home, to tell me our old vacuum had died. Because I do lots of research, and choose products that are great at what they do and not overpriced, he asked me to shop for a new vacuum while I was recuperating in the hospital.

I used my phone to shop online, and came across ProLux. The more I read about ProLux, the more convinced I was that this was the right machine for us. My only complaint is that I have to wait until my doctor gives me the OK to vacuum! I can only offer my first impressions at this time, because I just received this product today, and used it for the first time. Like any new item that replaces an old item, it will have an adjustment period. I'll have to get used to the stiff curve in the hose where the extension tube REAL METAL attaches -- I'm used to a more flexible hose at that junction, which allows me to create my own angles freely, whereas the hose on this vacuum cleaner is rigid at a set angle.

As for its power to pick up, I like the adjustable suction, which I placed at two-thirds strength, which is already twice as much suction as my old vacuum cleaner had.

Overall, It has a nice selection of tools, it is a good size, the retractable cord works well. My only constructive criticism would be for the company to make the instruction manual a bit more detailed by explaining EXACTLY where to find the motor filter it's in the same compartment as the bag.

The locations of the other filters were very clear. Also there are a couple of buttons for which there is no explanation in the instruction manual. And the font size used in the printed instruction manual is way too small. The font size on the instruction insert, however, is much more reasonably sized for reading. So, at this point, I'll still give it five stars, because what's most important is that it has good suction, and I foresee it continuing to work.

I'm satisfied with the purchase. So far, great vacuum.
